Some of my paintings from the early 70's reflect an interest in

altered states, usually very complicated details.

Left has a blue cast that would take too long

to remove, right is bird flying through a moment in time.

The paintings I'd like to make now would look simpler,

but might take as long, with many glazes.

Still some problems with my computer, they seem to have

changed a lot of settings, & I have so little patience with

anything technical.. at such times I think about the

simplicity of just painting pictures.
After 10 years of computer though, it seems too slow..

My camera is still being fixed, then this week my computer died..

Various other challenges, a friend said it could be Mars
hitting Chiron in my chart ~ battles & old stuff, sounds

about right. Didn't lose all the data,though, just had to replace

a lot of hardware, maybe next update will be to a mac.

There was a big flock of seagulls on the beach yesterday.
Maybe more arrive as more tourists come to Byron Bay.
As for the latter I wish they'd find another place
to love to death.

Some days at the beach are a big surprise,
the tides unearth different rocks, which may be covered
again for another 50 or more years; once I saw some
with 1915 scratched in. Same with sand patterns,
it can feel like a private showing.

Then there's the rocks that have held a powerful position
in the culture, for millennia. Nimbin Rocks top right
is one which indigenous women are not supposed to even
look at.. I saw some very unusual sights there one time.
Canyon de Chelly in the usa has an elevated, spiritual vibration
~ similar to being in the high mountains.

Over these (semi) holidays, various friends & family have
visited: one day we went to Bangalow, which has a lovely
green area behind the main street. The marvellous
Windhorse gallery is in Bangalow, an exquisite collection of
Tibetan thangkas, & artifacts.
There was a beachfront craft market one day, many more
people at the beach. It's tropical weather in Byron Bay.

I made a fun morphing video of my face, from baby to now,
& ending with this skull; it's small but still too big to upload.
Instead: water that echoes the skull more or less (sorry, I don't
remember where the skull came from, it looks like one
of the amazing crystal ones from Mexico)

In 2010, I wish you the kind of year where you can
chill out when it gets too hot
