sending flowers

Sending flowers to a friend/sometime relative of 50 years,
who is no longer with us.

May she enjoy whatever comes next. She had 94 or so
years of enjoyment practice in this life!

types

The first sketches I did for 3 of the 9 personality types
of the Enneagram (5, 6, 7). I did them all as masks.
Then I did the finished art which
was used in Eli Jaxon-Bear's book on the subject.
At least the first edition.

Later I did a smaller version above with all 9 together.
These days I'm not much interested in
developing/working on the personal, but the enneagram
can give a good sense of the basic types.

altitude

Thinking I'd like to visit Lhasa before I get too decrepit.
Altitude didn't bother me at all, when I was younger,
in, for instance, Ladahk. I guess there's no way of telling?
Does anyone know? Above is an old Tibetan note.

sitting

Perhaps it's astrological, have almost no desire to
communicate, & if your comments are anything to go by,
you too have been in gemini retrograde or whatever..

It's a good opportunity to be quiet. Quiet-er.
It must be time I visited a Buddhist country again.

hoard

Have been hours finding the photos of people from Turkey
who I said I'd send prints to -at last- & printing them.
Above from Mardin, because it's a Leo full moon.

& gold because I read an interesting piece about the
'hill of gold' hoard currently exhibited at the British Museum.
Imagine what we might be missing because of looting.
Left from a small museum in Van.
Though I don't look much at jewelery these days,
the average store probably wouldn't excite
any archeologists 1000 yrs from now.. if there are any.
What do you think?

small towns

Had to fill in some time in a nearby town, wandered through
back lanes, where I saw the spooky face (a tattoo place).
I find some small towns quite stifling, via the thought I might
have to stay there .. trapped.., I suppose ~ though
I haven't lived in a large city for ages.

In the late 60's I was an art director in a big Sydney ad agency.
It was like the tv series Mad Men, I liked it, didn't you?
Just saw this piece.

a heart

Saw an A next to a massive camphor laurel tree with it's
heart. Many consider camphors a noxious weed, here;
I really like the look of them, though they are prolific
in this climate. Plants that were well behaved in the
northern hemisphere ran rampant in Australia, rather like
humans, everywhere..
