The puppets were for sale in the market, while
the puppeteers were once at the Sunday walking
market in Chiang Mai. I think they were from Myanmar,
& even without understanding a word, it was
spellbinding; I could see other onlookers become
engrossed. Somewhere there was an evening
performance, that would add to the dramatic effect.
