The wattle has been trying to burst into Spring for weeks, delayed by lots of rain, now it's happening. Not sure when it's supposed to bloom, possibly it's confused.
The rain is growing vertical gardens on all the tree trunks, especially in Mullumbimby. I like the palm's almost metallic sheen.
For many years I travelled the world painting, then exhibiting;
working as either Ann or Anie Williams my book illustrations include Images from the I Ching; both editions of A Recipe for Dreaming, and The Family Frying Pan written by Bryce Courtenay (Penguin);
and Burning Questions with Isaac Shapiro (shantipress.blogspot.com.au)
Many of my images are available as limited edition prints -
email me for details.
I love taking photographs
& like my pictures to reflect the deep interest in who we are, really.

Anie,
Way back in primary school I remember being taught that 1st August was Wattle Day, the day the wattle would be in full bloom.
Up in theBay you seem to be absolutely spot on.

Thanks Ray.. I've no clear memories of early school, beyond how the pages of the alphabet were laid out,
so I'm amazed by this feat.
