Scanning some old photos & wishing I could time-travel
back to the 70's with digital cameras,
as many of these are from contact prints,
or badly scratched negs that have been lost. & now there must be
4 or 5 hundred million more people since when I lived in India.
Probably the most amazing times were the Pushkar mela
in about 1971, & a week on
a picnic boat down the Jhelum River in Kashmir.
But living up the hill from the Dalhousie bazaar, for years;
& staying with Indian friends as part of their family,
being in Varanasi for months ~ then it felt ok to
photograph the people I saw.
