terraces
More from the moving bus window, on way to Kathmandu.
There were some great looking rocks
being smashed for gravel. & precarious
hillside villages with extensive terraces.
It seems many places claim the oldest terraces,
these are in the Philippines

rough road
Two from the bus window, leaving Pokhara
for Boudanath. Parts are very beautiful,
but its so hard (for me) to get good shots,
through glass on a bumpy road, dark day etc.
I doubt I'd ever have been up for riding on the roof.

wheel
Made a quick trip to see a dear friend;
it's so different to be in a big city,
after our dozy little town.

Near the monks' quarters at a temple in Bangkok
One I'd have dearly loved to see in person,
1000 years of the Persian Book of Kings

goldleafed
From Thailand & Burma.
Sometimes the statues have so much gold leaf
you can barely see the original form.
oh to be in Paris,
big shows of Gerhard Richter
at both the Louvre & Centre Pompidou

shell fan
At one stage I lived right at a beach, & collected
shells on my walks, I did a few paintings, & also painted
some on the furniture I was making at the time.
That is, a cabinet maker made them, I painted them,
Finished with high gloss, they were easier to sell,
though quite hard work.

sky mandala
Another of my painting from long ago, long before
computers. I mostly worked in gouache, its a little tricky
when working for a few weeks, a sneeze can
take a long time to repair.

timetables
Posting some old work for while I'm away for a few days.
Back then I made a few small tables ~ timetables ~
with screenprints, collage & 3D elements, then
added glass on top. This one had
2 pieces that were collaged noses, I named it
'Time will Tell'.

2 ways
Two paintings from the 1980's, don't know if I've put them
here before. The meditative chakra one was closer to my
interest, while the one of Jesus was at the suggestion of
a friend who thought ~ I don't know what exactly, except that
his interest must have been more this way.
I doubt whether this was what he meant, however..
the universe might not be the same all over

shells
Another of my older paintings, it came from
something I read about an experiment with sounds,
& how sound can make patterns.

Wattle, left, is here in Byron Bay, the other flower

mess
Saved this from my Nepal trip, even though its blurred,
out a bus window. That's what I would call a mess!
I like what the man's posture seems to say.
