Did these two drawings 8 to 10 years ago,

have no memory of what program I used,

which would bother me if I didn't recall how many

things I've moved through in that time.

Perhaps I didn't explore it fully, but it seemed

kind of limited compared to pen, brush etc.

Maybe a plug-in on Corel Draw?

Intended to complete my bookings for the next trip, today,

& didn't, for various reasons. Now I'm wondering whether

I can leave the rest until I get there, so there is room for

mind-changing. For instance: to stay longer in Burma,

&/or see this part of Thailand again. Maybe both?

Have been using many of my Thai photos within

the new images, so probably the latter.

low tide

Walked on beach at low tide today, sun at a low angle

Reflections can be green, since trees grow to the edge.

The trees were still, though the sand showed signs of

being nibbled by the wind.

Have been thinking some about what it means to meditate,

(for a possible project), I know what it means for me,

but how to represent it to a variety of people?

Am also noticing how thinking isn't very useful

in the process of making a picture.

Then there's the question of symbols: what is instantly

recognised in asia, say, could be meaningless elsewhere.

Top is from the most recent day at the beach.

I collected stones etc for years; think it's bits of

barbed wire, centre. Used to paint pictures of

some stones, like this photo of exclamation marks.

Did a family album last week, online, while there was a

special promotion. Compared to now, when children are

photographed every 5 minutes, it used to be a special

occasion, & even more so in our grandparents time.

I like old photos a lot.

But imagine if everyone was still here..

I guess it would finish things quite fast.

reverse ageing process? Sounds like a poor idea, no?

Have been quite house bound for some days, it was

good to get out, & especially to get my back 'fixed'.

I see a magician who does cranio-sacral osteopathy.

Some years ago I made a short movie using just 2 photos:

a chandelier & a lotus. The flowers became a chair & so on,

with some wonderful words by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

I'll see if I can do it again as an 'event' on my mac, maybe.

Two new ones, I'm doing several different versions

before deciding which I like best.

That possibility makes it hard to return to painting.

The hand is in the earth touching gesture, it belongs to

a thai buddha. Have I mentioned how much

I like working at the 27inch screen on my new mac?

It was good to hear today that friends in Chile are safe,

& so far unaffected by the volcano eruption. There's some

amazing shots on thebigpicture, but I haven't figured out

how to add a link on Safari, unless I open an email with links.

Anyway you no doubt saw them before I did.

Haven't seen this guy for a while, I wonder where

they go when it's cold? It is cold ~ for here.

I like winter for hiding snakes.

Before that I illustrated A Recipe for Dreaming,

with small paintings, words by Bryce Courtenay,

& several years later we did another edition, this time with

my altered photographs; the 2nd edition top was published by

Penguin, (still available), while the 1st edition above is

no doubt available at Australian 2nd hand booksellers.

Two different rivers just before they reach the sea,

I like their changing moods/tides. Am so involved

with making new pictures, the words are scrambled.

It's like meditation, all the words/thoughts drop out,

though there's still functioning when necessary.

2 nights ago, I think it was, a very dramatic

sunset, followed swiftly by a big storm.

Winter is supposed to be fine sunny days &

cold nights, but it is still raining a lot.

Can't see how to open Safari in 2 windows,

so its too hard to add links, a list at right though.
